Support Groups
In an effort to support the entire family unit, AEFCT offers a range of support groups led by an MFT intern or licensed MFT, designed for the unique needs of families of children with autism. Weekly support groups available include groups for mothers, fathers, siblings, and general support for all. Topics discussed in group will be determined by members needs and concerns. Please contact
Shannon Wallace for information on times/days/and meeting locations.
Social Skills Groups
AEFCT offers social skills groups for children of all ages. Each group consists of no more than nine children within the same age range and ability level. There are always at least three trained adults present in order to target social facilitation, generalization, independence, and confidence building. A clinical supervisor meets with you and your child to review IPP/IEP goals relevant to socialization and will incorporate your child's specific goals into the group curriculum to ensure and track progress in all areas. Data is kept for each child and is reviewed individually with each parent in order to track progress while the child attended the group. Future goals are recommended/developed based on progress made while attending the group. We make every effort to include typical children within the same age range into our groups. Siblings are always welcome! Please contact
Maryann Le for more information.
